Let’s jump right into it:

What game made you realize you were a gamer?
I played a little bit of Super Mario as a kid, and later Sonic the Hedgehog 2 when we got our first official game console (Sega Genesis). However, it was when we got the N64 and I started playing Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask that I realized I really loved video games.

How did you get into content creation on YouTube?
I have to give that credit to the most amazing and humble YouTuber I have ever known: Mark Edward Fischbach, aka, “Markiplier”. After watching his videos, and seeing how passionate he is about wanting to make a difference in the world by putting a smile on people’s faces, I realized that I wanted to do my part in making the world a better place. Therefore, helping bring more diversity to the gaming industry is what I hope to do with my channel(s).

What are your favorite game genres?
I really enjoy RPGs and fantasy adventure games.

What’s your favorite kind of video to make on YT?
While I do enjoy my usual gaming content, I especially like the collaboration videos I made with a Youtuber friend of mine. I also like the vlogs that I do because it gives me a chance to help build my confidence in front of the camera.

How often do you post content?
I post content every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12 noon EST

What old system game would you love to see re-done for current generation console / PC?
Since I’m trying to properly download an emulator to play GameCube games, I wouldn’t mind seeing a re-do for that. Either that, or I need to figure out how to hook up my GameCube to my computer.

Fondest gaming memory?
My best gaming memory happened on my birthday back in May. On my streaming channel, I have a goal displayed on the screen for people to donate to, if they want. On that day a girl I’ve seen donate generously to other streamers donated $100 to my goal. I was so happy, I had to get from in front of the camera for a minute because I was crying.

Any other projects you’re working on? How can folks support?
I don’t have any current projects in mind at the moment other than trying to collaborate with other YouTubers. Right now, my only goals are to be able to go to conventions to network and help bring more awareness about the need for diversity in the gaming industry. I keep those goals posted when I stream.

Anything you’d like to add?
I think that because we are all basically working towards the same goal of making the gaming industry aware of our existence, we need step outside of our boxes and do a better job of making ourselves known. We need to try harder at conventions to get to speak on panels, collaborate and network with more people, not just other African Americans, and find other streaming sites besides Twitch. I’ve even written to the Steve Harvey Show about helping bring more awareness to African Americans in gaming industry. I never got a response, but I think that if more people wrote in to shows like that, we’d be able to give ourselves a better opportunity to put ourselves on a larger platform that will eventually give us the recognition we deserve in this industry. After all, in gaming, there’s something for everyone, right?

If you could choose one fantasy world to live in, which one would it be and why?
That’s an impossible choice because since I was a kid, I would always imagine myself in the world of a video game or tv show. I’d have my own character with my own back story and love interest, the whole nine yards.

The top two are DBZ, where I am Xandra, an undercover queen who comes along with Trunks to help save the past, although she has an agenda of her own, and the game Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, where I am Allya, long-time friend of Lyude but is secretly a hybrid human-dragon. Please don’t ask for more details, we’d be here all day :p
